Millspace presents the works of local artist Shawn Smith.
Shawn works in all mediums from oil and watercolor to pen and ink. The artist’s extensive collection of expressive and intimate portraits which capture the essence of his subjects,thought-provoking and intriguing pieces, along with sculptures and poetry will be exhibited at Millspace during a reception on Saturday, July 18th from 6pm – 8pm and is free to the public.
Shawn will also be sharing a slide show featuring the work his has done for the parents and families of children of the Make-A-Wish foundation. He teams with Russell Architectural Finishing and Breakwater Construction of Gloucester, MA to make this happen.
The artist’s personal experiences of adversity in his life including poverty, abuse, and even homelessness and steadfastness in overcoming them are expressed through his work and is sure to strike a chord with exhibit guests. Shawn studied Commercial and Fine Art at Notre Dame College after serving as an infantryman in the US Army. He is a single father of three and currently lives in Loudon with his son Ethan.
